Free Food for kids in Uniontown!

Today we kicked off our second year of participation in the Summer Food Program. In partnership with local schools, churches, community centers, and the Pittsburgh Food Bank we are able to feed a free lunch to any child in Fayette County. This is an enormous privilage and responcibility! We're so thankful for an amazing volunteer team that is passionate about not only feeding kids, and helping them be healty physically, but also showing them the love of God. We desire to see each of these precious kids learn this summer that someone loves and cares about them and their future.

Our first day and we had 48 students! We fully expect that to grow as summer progresses! After we ate the wonderful lunch provided by the great food service staff at Laurel Highlands Highschool, we went outside and began our health and wellness program. Each student will be tracking their physical strength and endurence throughout the summer. We had a blast not only facilitating but also participating in the challenges.

Our schedule is:

  • Tuesday - Friday Free meal for anyone 18 & under
  • Tuesday's 12pm - Physical Endurence / Education
  • Wednesdays 6:30pm - Game Based Object Lessons / Music / Spiritual Training
  • Thursdays 12pm - Water Games / Bible Stories (Be ready to get wet!)
