Dear CBC Family,

We are facing a global pandemic. COVID-19 is a disease that is spreading rapidly through our country and soon through our community. I believe God is good. I know God is active in this moment.

Philippians 4:19 says “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

And God has supplied all that we need!

2 Peter 1:13 says “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,”.

Part of what God has supplied is wisdom. And that is what I and the church leadership are relying on during this time. We do not need to panic. Fear is not of God. We do however need to take steps to protect the most vulnerable in our CBC Family.

I believe there are two very important things we need to do.

  1. We need to stay home. I don’t like it. I love our gatherings. Social distancing can slow the spread of COVID-19, but it will only work if we do it before people are sick.

  2. We need to serve our Church Family, and our Community. The gospel of Christ spread in ancient Rome because Christians served others sacrificially. This is our heritage as disciples of Jesus. This is how we will demonstrate our faith.

How we will do this:

  1. We have set up https://live.cbcfamily.church where we will have live streaming services Sunday at 10am. This link will be posted on facebook as well. I will continue to preach the word of God. Though we can’t gather in person, we can gather together virtually, and listen to what God has for us.

  2. Last week we established a CBC Emergency Response Task Force. We had about 20 people sign up to make themselves available to serve the needs of our elderly and those who will need assistance over the next weeks and months. This Task Force will allow us to coordinate resources, run errands, pickup medication, and provide food and services so our seniors and those with underlying health conditions can stay home. If you would like to be a part of the Task Force please sign-up here https://cbcfamily.church/taskforce

I trust God, and I believe that our faith will grow through this time. This is an incredible opportunity to be the Church and demonstrate the love of God to our Church family and our neighbors.

In Christ,

Pastor Ron Hudson
